Sulfamethazine 12.5%
Indications:
An apple flavored solution of sulfamethazine, "Sulfa
25" is indicated for use to control outbreaks of
Caecal Coccidiosis, infectious Coryza, and secondary bacterial
infections associated with outbreaks of C.R.D. in poultry;
to treat Acute Fowl Cholera and Antipestifer Disease in
ducks; to treat metritis, bacterial enteritis, acute mastitis,
and acute bacterial respiratory infections in cattle,
calves, sheep, and swine.
Directions for Use:
Mix into the drinking water.
Poultry - Coccidiosis in Chickens:
- Mix 4 mL/L water and treat for
2 days
- Stop for 4 days
- Treat for 1 day
- Stop for another 4 days
- Treat for 1 more day
Coccidiosis in Turkeys:
- Mix 10mL/L water and treat for
2 days
- Reduce the dose by 1/2 for the
next 7 - 10 days
Coryza in Chickens:
- Mix 4 mL/L water and treat for
2 days
- Stop for 4 days
- Treat for 1 day
- Stop for another 4 days
- Treat for 2 more days
Acute
Fowl Cholera:
- Mix 4mL/L water for 2 days
Cattle, Calves, Sheep & Swine:
- Give 25mL/40kg body weight for
the first day
- Reduce the dose by 1/2 for the
next 3 days
Beef Cattle & Sheep:
- Mix 25mL/4L water for the first
day
- Reduce the dose by 1/2 for the
next 3 days
- Administer in feed:
- Add correct dosage to the amount
of feed consumed in 2 - 4 hours
Caution:
- This product must not be added
to swine feeds.
- Milk taken from treated animals
within 96 hours after the latest treatment must not
be used in food.
- Treated animals must not be slaughtered
for use in food for at least 10 days (cattle, calve,
sheep, and swine); 12 days (poultry) after the latest
treatment with this drug.
- If animals do not respond within
4 days, stop treatment and recheck diagnosis.
- This product must not be used on
laying birds.
- Dairy animals use twice as much
water, so reduce dosage accordingly.
- Animals not drinking should be
drenched.
- Medicated water should be he only
source of water during treatment.
- Keep from freezing.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
