Insecticides,
Parasiticides & Disinfectants
These are three closely related classifications. To better
define them, each will be discussed separately. Insecticides
are for topical use on livestock. Various forms of pesticides
are available. They may be:
- Dusted directly onto the animal
- Mixed with water and sprayed
They are effective against a wide variety of insects including:
- Ticks
- Lice
- Fleas
- Horn Flies
- Northern Fowl Mites
- Chicken Mites
- Bed Bugs
Parasiticides are agents used to kill parasites. Parasites
are organisms which feed off of other organisms. Wormers
are considered parasiticides. There are various types
of wormers, and they are available in both powder and
liquid form.
Disinfectants represent a wide variety of products.
Some are iodine based, while others are ammonia based.
Often the two types are used alternately to prevent
resistance of the bacteria. Her are some exaples: BIODINE

GERME-ZONE
DIN 00097403
Indications:
For Stock: Very beneficial for simple scours in calves, sheep, and other animals. The astringent action of Germe-Zone in the intestines of pigs suffering from necrotic enteritis is an aid in the treatment of this disease.

For Cuts, Scratches, Abrasions, Wounds & Burns: Germe-Zone is a very effective and beneficial antiseptic application to the skin and semi-exterior mucous membrane, for poultry and stock. On cuts and wounds it may be applied full strength and will not injure tissue. An antiseptic wash may be made by diluting one part of Germe-Zone with 25 parts of water
