Description	Fine, white to slightly yellow-white, odourless powder.
Solubilty	Slightly soluble in water; soluble in 3N hydrochloric acid.
Identification	Dissolve about 200 mg by warming in a mixture of 4 mL of 3N hydrochloric acid and 16 mL of water. This solution responds to the tests for Calcium and for Sulfate(191)p.1918.
Assay	Dissolve approx. 300mg, accurately weighed in 100mL water and 4mL 3N HCL. Boil if necessary and cool before titration. Whole stirring add 0.5mL triethanolamine, 300mg hydroxy naphthol blue, and 30mL of 0.05M EDTA froma 50mL buret. Add sodium hydroxide solution (45in100) until red color changes to blue, the continue to add dropwise until color changes to violet, add an additional 0.5mL.?Confirm pH is between 12.3-12.5.?Continue 0.05M EDTA titration until a clear blue endpoint is reached for at least 60 seconds.?Each ml of 0.05M EDTA is equivalent to 6.807mg.
