Solubility	Soluble in 1.2 part of water and 4 parts of 96% ethanol.
Identification (191) Calcium and Chloride	A. Yields a white precipitate of calcium oxalate with slightly acidified ammonium oxalate TS solution. B. Yields white precipitate with silver nitrate TS.
Assay	Weigh accurately 1g of sample, transfer to a 250-ml beaker and dissolve in a mixture of 100 ml of water and 5 ml of 3N HCl. Transfer the solution to a 250-ml vol. flask, dilute to the volume. Pipette 50 ml of the solution; add 100 ml of water, 15 ml of 1N NaOH and 300 mg of hydroxynaphthol blue indicator and titrate with 0.05M disodium EDTA VS until the solution is deep blue in color. Each ml of 0.05 M EDTA is equivalent to 7.351 mg of CaCL₂.2H₂O. Limit : 99.0 % - 110.7 %
